Programming is similar to the Discoveries program but for an aging demographic at a slower and more easygoing pace. Most individuals in the program are in the 50 plus age range. Vocational Support Services
The LoSeCa Foundation operates a vocational day program with a number of full-time job coaches to assist individuals to obtain employment. Through a series of vocational assessments, skill development, and job coaching, the individuals are able to work independently within their community. The job coach works with the individual to ensure a smooth transition into the work environment. Gained employment typically cultivates further responsibility for the the individual and a great sense of pride. Individuals are provided with pre-employment training, assistance with resume development and conducting a job search.
Individuals can also take part in work experience to further develop their skills and their interests! Some of this happens right in our thrift store. Once part-time or full-time employment is obtained, job coaching and ongoing support is provided to assist them in their new position!
